So good to have our old friend, AJD, back on the Whanganui Estuary, for the 17th summer. I have been able to get close to him several times and snap 100s of pictures. He looks in very good condition, and watching him preen, his agility seems as good as ever. We now have a couple of months to observe him, as he moults into breeding plumage, ready for his next northern migration, on, or around, 25 March 2025.
