For the first time in my life of photography I entered a photographic competition and from 6000 photos mine was picked as a finalist. No first prizes but happy to be third in the Peoples' Choice award. The whole thing was a great experience, and it got us up to Auckland where we thoroughly enjoyed a few days in the Wynyard Quarter of Auckland's CBD. The finalist pictures were all displayed in Britomart and we enjoyed checking that out. My picture was of a white fantail | Piwakawaka, taking a mid-flight snack in the hills above Lake Rotokare, Taranaki.
