On our Whanganui River Estuary during winter, kingfishers arrive in good numbers, in search of crabs, which seem abundant. I have positioned my vehicle near to a place I see them frequent and managed some great pictures of these colourful beauties. I focus my camera on them and attempt to capture a picture as they take flight, and at 30 frames per second, a good selection of pictures can be taken.
